It sometimes scares me when i imagine that someone could be able to track my way around the internet to the extent of him being able to form a flawless profile of me. Everyone is entitled to their privacy, i prefer the different bits of info about me that exist on the web to stay as they are- scattered.
As for the dude who lost a job opportunity on facebook, i feel sorry for him. And from the other story i hop we all learn to NOT be facebook friends with our bosses

I once was very cheeky especially on my blog.

Once I joined twitter, met a few ‘e people’, (some of whom I’ve done business with), it became apparent I have to live my online life same way I live my real life.

The basic rule is not to say something on there you wouldn’t say to/about someone face to face. Facebook is another story altogether, one I don’t know. Too old for facebook

DS, this is a great article. There are so many clueless people out there that think what they do on Facebook has nothing to do with the rest of their lives. As an example, one of my classmates won an award this year for leadership, community service, and exemplifying all the “good qualities of a doctor”. As soon as the award was announced, someone (perhaps out of jealousy) went to the Dean and revealed the person’s Facebook profile. There was nothing exemplary about it. Plenty of drunkenness, and some photos would have left you wondering if she was a doctor-in-training or a prostitute advertising her wares. Needless to say, the award was revoked and this led to the development of a brand new mandatory course aptly called “Professionalism in Medicine”.
